€49bn of Transfer Spending in One Graphic

Football clubs in Europe's big five leagues have spent around 49 billion euros on transfers over the last decade.

This graphic shows which teams have spent the most.

English clubs accounted for nearly 20 billion euros, with Italy having the second highest expenditure.

Chelsea are number 1 on the list, spending 2.1 billion on transfers.

They're followed by the Manchester clubs in second and third.

In Serie A, Juventus have spent by far the most, with Inter Milan also exceeding a billion euros.

Similarly in Spain, Barcelona are the biggest spenders, while the two Madrid teams are separated by just 60 million.

Bayern Munich and Dortmund lead the way in Germany, with three other clubs exceeding 500 million in expenditure.

PSG accounts for over a quarter of the transfer spending in France, with Neymar and Mbappe being the two most expensive transfers ever.
