Multitenant : Dynamic CPU Scaling - Resource Manager Control of CPU using CPU_COUNT and CPU_MIN_COUNT

In this video we'll discuss how Resource Manager can control CPU usage in PDBs using the CPU_COUNT and CPU_MIN_COUNT parameters. Oracle call this Dynamic CPU Scaling. This can be useful to stop a small number of PDBs using all CPU resources assigned to the instance.

Another question, by setting CPU_MIN_COUNT to 0.05 will it really take 0.05 of CPU threads. How can this possible?

Hi Tim, thank you very much for this valuable share. What will happen if cpu_min_count is 0.5 in CDB level and 2 in PDB level? it will be 2 for that pdb. As you already tell it as more restrictive value, is it really true since it will take a higher value "2". Thanks. Best regards, Derya
