☆ New Collection Now for Sale ☆

Many think that artists paint all day, but actually there's a lot of other jobs that need doing. I want you to join me in the studio for a 'job day' including varnishing paintings and getting my artwork ready to sell. I will be doing some oil painting, finishing off old artworks that never got finished. It will be a complete 'behind the scenes' of an artist in her studio.

A lot of people have many questions about varnishing paintings. The truth is it's totally a matter of choice. Acrylic paints (especially good quality ones) have been designed to withstand the test of time so unless you want your painting to last hundreds of years in pristine condition, I wouldn't worry too much. Oil paintings can benefit from a varnish as this protects them from UV damage & gives another layer to protect against dust and degradation. However you must wait till your oil painting is completely dry, which is usually at least 6 months. If you're not sure about varnishing, just do a google search and you can find all the info you need there to make a choice about your painting.

Omg they’re both beautiful! You don’t realize beauty when you’ve already reached it. 😅

Me whispering back to you about the ocean painting "*a bit more contrast in the clouds*", but it is beautiful anyway 🤩

I used to hate the mindless tasks of painting, but now they’re one of my favorite parts of the process. It just feels so nice to paint without having to think.

You ought to use a large brush or roller for varnishing, from experience the effects are the same but so much quicker and easier.

I'm in looove with this collection! I can't get over the way you paint clouds, with so much movement and weight and power! And the colors are so beautiful, I love it, great work! 💙✨

Thank you for the inspiring videos you always put up! It warms me up before heading into my studio. I understand the dilemma with the varnishes, but I’ve settled with Satin varnish and it gives me the vibrancy minus the glare. So win-win 😆 I’ve heard you can get satin also by mixing Matt and gloss, will be experimenting with that later!
