How Crunchyroll RUINED a $200,000,000 anime

Crunchyroll has screwed up a lot of anime. Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan is one of very recent example. However, Crunchyroll also screwed up a massive anime movie which earned ¥200,000,000 movie in just two weeks, Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction. The video also tells you which this highly anticipated anime based on a popular manga (with the same author as Oyasumi Punpun) got screwed up in the West.

By the way, shikanoko is on youtube for free
the first three episodes are up for free and the rest are uploaded only for a week then deleted

Seriously, why don't Japanese animation industries just make their own streaming platforms and stop relying on western million-dollar wackjobs that take their work and passion for granted. This needs to STOP.

Using the English dub script instead of translated Japanese… that’s a huge issue.

Shikanoko is available for free in some regions here on YouTube on the It'sAnime channel. The problem is that episode 5 onwards will only air for a week, then it will be privated until the Crunchyroll deal expires (probably).

Crunchyroll has a monopoly on the western anime market which is why they’re able to get away with so much and I don’t understand how so many ppl could still use it, it’s literal garbage

Crunchyroll used to have to compete with not only official anime streaming sites but also pirated sites. Now that they are the go-to site, they feel they can cut corners and don't have to try as hard

in the title it uses the dollars when in reality it only earned that amount in yen which is much less valuable.

You're not wrong. I get paid to watch English Dub Anime for a Review website and they don't always bother to translate when it's necessary for certain scenes involving Subs such as characters exchanging text messages, signs in the scenery, or differernt languages spoken outside of english. (For instance, certain characters in Golden Kamuy are capable of speaking in Russian and despite the Dub having characters accurately speak it, it's not English subbed for anyone to understand. You'd have to turn on the sub with the Dub just to fill in those particular story gaps.)

It made ¥200, 000, 000 (according to the graphic in your video) not $200M which with the current exchange rate of exchange rate is ¥144.84:$1 atm is $1.388M. That's not to say Crunchyroll doesn't suck, because they do. But your math is way way off.

The main thing is that they started the transmission in May, they never did any marketing, and the subtitles are messed up, wrong, if you watch the anime with spanish subtitles they are far better, it's just that they made a poor dub and they try to hide it by keeping the same awful lines as the english dub.

I hate CR for many reasons the main reasons are basically becoming a monopoly, letting anime get lost to time, messy translations, terrible dubs and not even picking up anime that would've got an official release before they ate funimation like girls band cry or an adaptation of a popular gacha game blue archive. Many, many times, having workers hate the medium they work with, including the fans who literally pay them.

At this point, using crunchyroll hurts anime more than pirating.

Once I saw a video about how translators are changing the subtitles just to include their own propaganda. That would explain how "Lets do it" becomes "girl power".
