I was a volunteer at Nene Valley Railway in the early eighties when they were filming this, Roger Moore was a bloody good laugh, always cracking jokes.

I had the complete privilege of sitting in roger Moore's company for around 3 hours when he did a tour of England. He was a complete gentleman, very funny and sharp as a tack. He was the James bond I grew up with so for me roger was the greatest bond of all, who played 007 with a humorous twinkle in his eye. My dad took me to the pictures to see live and let die and the man with the golden gun. Roger more bond films were also great family entertainment films. A terrific and funny guy . R.I.P Rooger. The greatest bond of all .

If one Bond can be called "the most fun" it's this one.

I would see both Octopussy and Never Say Never Again in the theaters. what a treat to see 2 Bond movies in 5 months. Both had beautiful women and terrific opening songs. The edge might go to Never Say Never Again. You had Barbara Carrera and Kim Bassinger.

Favourite scene, after Bond turns the tables on the backgammon game with Kamal Khan:
"Spend the money quickly, Mr. Bond."
(Implying: "Enjoy it while you're still alive" ).

Roger Moore is my James Bond in the same way Tom Baker is my Dr Who and no on else comes close. I like Live and Let die, View to a Kill and Octopussy in that order, all fantastic and Moore's personality is what makes it for me. Interesting to see that Ian Ogilvy was considered to be Bond, that wouls have worked for me, he was class in The Saint.

I love the scene on the plane with Khan's henchman's reaction to being told to go outside the plane to get Bond.

This was my 2nd bond film that i watched at the cinema with my parents, I was 11. The first was For your eyes only. I was watching TJ hooker earlier which was the same year and just thinking about how great that time seemed, terrific shows on tv even repeats when they were t j hooker, knight rider, chips, starsky and hutch.

On a trip to India in 1987 to ride the train "Palace On Wheels"--I visited several of the scene locations. Yes, you're correct--the locals who were in the film loved talking about the time. Several had snapshot prints of selfies with the cast.
