If one views modern progressivism as a secular religion, it makes sense why they would keep lying about Gamergate and maintaining their mythology aside from just "ring-kissing" as you mentioned, because Gamergate is a part of their religion's Foundation Myth. Thus they have to keep pushing it and invoking lie after lie and expecting members of their tribe to keep doing so. Because doubting the narrative brings the entire orthodoxy into doubt. Its honestly telling and appropriate that we refer to it as "The Cathedral".

Gamergate was the spark that turned the tides of the culture war; It took a captured group of progressive gamers and turned them hardcore conservative in a matter of months and, considering that gamers will be one of the largest voting blocs in the future, so Gamergate will forever be relevant until the millennial generation dies and turns to dust. I will guarantee you, we will be talking about Gamergate in 50-60 years.

I've noticed that the Depp vs. Heard trial has the same problem where some people keep insisting that she was the victim despite all the evidence and they even go as far as to make up events that happened to keep the lie going. I think they were upset that they lost the narrative on that even with the normies. It made me realize how bad the media was at reporting the same way GG did for gamers.

I feel like we're seeing a facade starting to crack where certain pockets of fandoms are waking up.

I remember back in 1973 when a gamer broke into my home, murdered my dog, pissed in my water heater, and wrote mean tweets on my drive way.

They are a threat and need to be stopped.
