The Evolution of Health Disparities Assessment in the Healthy People Initiative (11/14/2022)

Healthy People is an interagency initiative led by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The Healthy People initiative guides national health promotion and disease prevention efforts to improve the nation’s health. Over the past four decades, the initiative has included an overarching goal to reduce or eliminate health disparities. CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics leads the development of methods to measure disparities and progress towards reaching Health People goals.

This webinar will describe the methods for measuring health disparities and summarize their evolution over the past four decades. Presenters also will share exciting insights into the latest tools and data visualizations supporting this initiative.
