And the worse thing about getting latched on by a headcrab is that you dont very much die from the whole process. You are still pretty much alive even if they take full control of your body which means that you can very much feel your body rot and transform to the headcrab’s liking as well as any damage you take as a zombie. Which is why when you encounter headcrab zombies, you can hear some of them screaming for help. Just one of the hellish experiences in the Half-Life universe…

people often forget being a headcrab host is a fate worst than death since you will be in pure pain and at that point the crab fully connects to you meaning when it gets killed you also die

There is evolved version of the zombie called Gonome seen only in Opposing Forces. It's much larger and faster than normal zombie with fully developed stomach jaws while headcrab seems to be withered or deflated with skull being seen through the headcrab.
It also is able to produce toxic mush that Gonome takes out of the mouth and throws it into target

Scary fact about headcrabs: they don’t just connect to your brain, they connect to your entire nervous system causing extreme pain and you can even hear the half life zombies scream in pain and beg to die which is a bit dark

Morbid fact about headcrab zombies are that the host of the headcrab is actually still alive and feels every which way he could feel pain and if you reverse the zombies screams it’s pleads for help

The head crab has teeth tht go into the roof of the victim’s mouth n some tht go into the back of their head as well, thts why their mouths are open n their heads are rocked back when you kill them
