I'm pleased that the "younger guys" are still talking about building community and true friendships through the comments and vlog-discussions. It's something that was very strong as a motivator for those of us who started back in '06, but have found somewhat lacking each following year.

As the man said, it's all about the interaction.
I don't think many vloggers, especially the class of 2006, came onto YT with the idea of making money. Or, seeing it as a potential career move. That's what has changed over those past 5 years.
I don't have anything against anybody who makes money out of YT, best of luck to them. But, i would much rather watch those vloggers who are doing it for non commercial reasons :)

As I mentioned before, my own perception is that while the overall YouTube community isn't what it once was, perhaps the sense of community still exists in "neighborhoods" inside the YouTube "big city." Care to discuss in a future interview? :-)
