Momus: Some Enchanted Evening

As part of the ongoing Versions series in which people commission Momus to cover songs for €100, here's Some Enchanted Evening from the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical South Pacific, requested by Robert Dye. The visuals are from the The Student of Prague (1913).

My grandma made me learn this song a long time ago (on an out-of- tune piano, not a synthesizer, obviously). That piano got tore up completely during Hurricane Katrina, but if objects have embued feelings, I hope this is the kind of song it went out with.

I think this is one of the very first songs I remember hearing. I've got a vague feeling that I've alresdy proposed an entire Momus South Pacific covers album, so I'm going to bed more than happy.
