Greetings, Historians! Today, I'm going to be talking about something I noticed in Spyro 2, something of which could prove a theory I had in another video.

I never noticed the symbol until this video! Even if the Aether symbol has a different meaning in the Reignited universe, it's still cool that they're reusing/ integrating Legends content into the Classic universe. It gives me hope for Spyro 4 to bring in more content and act as a bridge of sorts between the two, similar to how the new Star Wars books and shows bring in aspects from old Star Wars Legends material into the new canon.

Sometime in the beginning of riptos rage, elora asks spyro about the dragons and how they just disappeared one day. Spyro then mentions that they just needed some peace and quiet for a bit. So with that said dragons were, in my opinion, world wide spread or further. So its stated from an early point how dragons were apart of the world once.

I am so happy someone is doing lore videos on Spyro and the realms/universes, thanks for the great content!

The symbol or may be just an ornamental decor or actually some resemblance of the Aether.
I guess that, the dragons actually helped with the portals' manufacture through their own magic, as in the first game, the realms where we go are full of dragons and we easily can go through them.
But in Spyro 2, you require to collect talismans to open certain portals and go to other place, so maybe these talismans hold some kind of magic (possinly dragon magic) that powers the portals to activate them.
Also, the whole Avalar realm may be built along dragons as there are those symbols as representation, that with years lost significance.
Great video!
Also, finally the lore of Spyro is coming! :D

I have tried to compare both Symbols, in my opinion, however, it simply seem a Design Choice that the Gem Cutters made for that building, but if we suppose that your Speculation is True, I would believe that the Aether may indeed exist, but, it's below that specific building and only the Gem Cutters know that it's there.
I know that one Question could be :
"Why they didn't tell anyone about this?"
The Answer would be because they know that no one is Mentally Wise enough for harness such power yet, for example, Spyro has a Good Heart and tries to help and being friendly with everyone, but is also known for often being Cocky and Arrogant, meaning he could use the Aether in the Wrong Way (not an Evil Way, but, I suppose, it would still being considered inappropriate), not even the Elder Tomas (from A Hero's Tail), which, being the Leader of the Council Of The Elders, is considered the Wisest compared to everyone else, would be the right one for harness this power, because, at this point of the Story (Spyro 2) he is still suffering from the Emotional Trauma of having lost his dear friend Red, meaning that he could, like Spyro, using the Aether in a Inappropriate Way due to the Heavy Moments he is going through.

Speaking of Red, I could have (but, I'm not sure, though) a Trivia about him, in A Hero's Tail, at a certain point he says to Spyro "Prepare to be taught a lesson...or two", in Shadow Legacy, he says, referred to The Sorcerer, "I would show him a thing, or two".
Two similar Phrases imply, in my opinion, that Red actually isn't that much Traumatized by the Brainwash Magic, he would surely still have much Guilt, which is the reason he is friendlier compared to his Old Self (before being Brainwashed), but the most recurring Thoughts that he is having are about Revenge, meaning that he could actually be more Determined than what he could not seem.
I can see that Red is, for some things. similar to Cynder, as both were determined to Defeat the one that was responsible for their respective Brainwashing (Red for The Sorcerer, Cynder for Malefor) and both are willing to go through everything just for make sure that their Revenge will be accomplished.
This could also mean that, theoretically, "A New Beginning" and/or "The Eternal Night" may be Story Remakes of "A Hero's Tail", and that, "Dawn Of The Dragon" is a Story Remake of "Shadow legacy".
