Origins was a good revamp with light rpg elements and it just went downhill from there. Origins at least had a good story and more manageable amount of content. Odyssey and Valhalla felt more Assassins Creed adjacent than anything else since you’re not actually playing an assassin in those games while origins tells the origin story of the Creed in I think a satisfying way.

So they took Ghost of Tsushima combat, made it look like an EA game, added a copypasta campaign, and called is AC Shadows. Got it.

Fun fact: the highest point of the map trophy "Happy Place" could be a reference to Bokuto no ryu's Famous "Best place" or "happy place" in english dub. although the mountain was different from the legend Yamata no Orochi, the scene where ryu received his iconic wooden sword and tokagero's orochi awakening was from a mountain looming over a village and river. that mountain also made him realize where his "happy place" truly is.

After finishing the story, the lack of a very hard difficulty setting is my biggest complaint. There was a nightmare difficulty for Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla. This game had a very easy but no very hard? What's up with that? To get an actual challenge I did giant brawls against crowds of enemies as Naoe, kusari-gama style. And I never even bothered to use allies.

Tbh ghosts of Tsushima looked and played way better then shadows even tho I played the time demo of shadows I can confidently say I will NOT be getting this when I know yotei is coming out soon.

I liked Origins, wasn't crazy for odyssey, and skipped valhalla, but this game is goated, I really like the changes they made
