If it's the most photographed sight in Jamaica, it would be nice for the Government not to let it die. When I was a child in the 50's the entire area was dark even in the day ..look out it now...

My father recently told me a memory of him driving through this area late at night and some of the bamboo fell in front of his car. He had to use a machete to clear the area so he could drive through.

I'm very disappointed at the sight of this once precious bamboo trees overlapping in the parish iot st Elizabeth. When I was a young woman it was clustered wit peace and tranquility. Now it's so much space in between and shacks. If the owners of slaves was kind enough to order the panting of these trees for the covering of persons who had to take long walks in the hot sun why shouldn't such site be preserved. I was told that some incidents happened there some time ago and some of the beautiful trees had to be decluttered. No there should be armed security with coverage to send those without worth and appreciation for beauty to jail. It's is a disgrace there shouldn't be huts building there
