It amazes me that there isn’t a single great looking EV sports car. I know they will come eventually but the wait is maddening. I’d order this car in a heartbeat and happily park it next to my turbo F-Type convertible.

Oh my goodness...!
I've been banging on about "Why can't MINI just put all the 3dr EV drivetrain in to the convertible...?" for absolutely AGES...!! 🤣
I presumed the only reason they'd not done it already was, perhaps, to do with some extra chassis bracing structures or something that's need in the drop-top taking up battery space.
But... amazing that they've gone and done it (finally...!!!)
And, yes, they absolutely should bring it to market ASAP - other than the 'extended sunroof' Fiat 500e, this would make the first 'proper' convertible EV in the market...

this would be my absolute first 'second EV on the driveway' car. maybe not as fast, large, comfortable as my primary EV, but if you are just commuting, or just going to a gym, there is no reason to bring your family hauler with you :)

*Edit: I checked and there is indeed a BMW press release stating as much. Best selling single model is the Cooper SE. Wow.

Aero problems kill EV range. I would buy a convertible EV in a second (especially this one), but the consumer isn't a priority. We eat whatever we are fed.

It will come, but to late, to expansive and to little range.
Better buy the Fiat 500E Cabrio, that is available since 2020.
