When I do puzzles, I get the frame done first and then sort the pieces by color. I like this idea and I actually got a puzzle that I want to frame but didn't want to glue it.

I built some movie poster puzzle sets on cardboard first, then remove everything from the frame by lifting up the metal tabs to remove both the back board and the glass away from the frame, then use the frame glass to put it on top of the puzzle, then i carefully flip it over, then remove the cardboard carefully from the back, then carefully put the glass with the back of the puzzle on top inside, put the frame back board inside the puzzle frame i always check its the right way up before inserting it inside, then i carefully close the metal tabs to stop the backboard from moving so that the puzzle can nicely stay in the frame itself. Great idea building the puzzle on the paper from the frame. I start with the edge pieces first too. Here’s an additional tip. When done with the puzzle roll it from all four sides to the center with a rolling pin. It seats all the pieces together and gets rid of the spaces between the puzzle pieces.
