This is also happening in the lower valley in eastern Washington. The smaller jewelry stores sell fake or gold dipped silver it’s a scam as well.

If you buy a “gold chain” from someone off the freeway or an intersection while in your car, I don’t really feel sorry for you if you’re scammed.

Cmon people. Why would you go out of your way for someone on the side of the road trying to sell jewelry. I've had similar situations happen to me and just drove off.

Notice, there is no description but several witnesses.

Duh how is this a scam?
Why would you buy gold on the street or highways?
The way I think is that if this was real gold Why wouldn't this person take the jewelry to the pawn shop or a jewelry shop?

Just as I was gonna travel there and buy jewelry from the side of the road.

This is especially all the more ridiculous because gold jewelry is usually very easy to sell to established businesses like jewelers, pawn shops, and fences

I was approached at the FredMeyers on 85th in Greenwood dist. Walking to the store from my car a guy pulled up by me and showed me a few gold chains and asked “ Do you like gold ? “ He wasn’t well dressed or even semi respectable. He was sketchy, my cringy alert senses definitely went off. It was weird and I got to thinking what a weird hustle.

I had 3 different people at two gas stations try to give me a “gold“ ring for gas, on a trip from FL to Cali 😂 Told the 2nd guy someone just hit me up 30 seconds ago. Think they were all gypsies 🤷‍♂️
