About the florals and lace tights look: the reason the inspo works is because not only a lot of small patterns but they are all tonally similar: all mid tones.
If you want to see the tones in an outfit without being distracted by color, take a photo then convert it to black and white. For this outfit you would want no patterns that are really light or really dark.
