Man it is incredible just how important Crystal Tower is. Let's look at everything important it set up.
The tower itself, source of the future salvation of the source and the 1st.
G'raha himself. Don't need to explain.
Nero developing that weird friendship with Cid more, though that tends to come up in side stories.
Amon and even his penchant for clones foreshadowing the fact that yes, that isn't the real Amon we kill.
The world of the Void and the 13th. (Still love the theory that Cloud of Darkness is the fragment of Azem from the 13th.)
And more.

I... I don't remember playing through any of this. Was all of this a part of the MSQ? Did I really skip that many cutscenes in my younger days? Mayhap I should go back and do another playthrough... unless it wasn't a part of the MSQ and was optional content, in which case I feel like this being optional is a disservice to the story.
