New 2025 Skoda Kodiaq RS Revealed

Skoda’s second-generation Kodiaq RS has arrived in Europe, expanding the growing niche of performance-oriented SUVs that were once mostly reserved for luxury brands. Originally launched with a twin-turbo diesel engine, the Kodiaq RS made a shift in 2021 to a gasoline engine during its facelift. This latest version is equipped with Volkswagen Group’s widely-used 2.0 TSI engine, which gives it even more power and capabilities.

Sitting above the sport-focused Sportline trim, the new Kodiaq RS now comes with 261 horsepower, matching the power of Skoda’s Octavia RS. This new engine brings a 20 horsepower boost over the previous model, while the turbocharged four-cylinder unit also delivers 295 pound-feet of torque. This increase in power makes it one of the stronger options in Skoda’s lineup, particularly given its larger and heavier body compared to other RS models like the Octavia.

With power being sent to all four wheels through a seven-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission, the Kodiaq RS handles the zero-to-sixty-two miles per hour sprint in just 6.3 seconds. The seven-seat model, due to its slightly heavier build, completes the sprint in 6.4 seconds. Both models reach a maximum speed of 144 miles per hour.

Skoda has packed the Kodiaq RS with technology and comfort features that bridge the gap between practicality and luxury. Highlights include matrix LED headlights and continuously adjustable dampers, delivering a responsive drive with various settings for Sport, Snow, and Off-Road conditions. To add comfort and style, Skoda has fitted the Kodiaq RS with ventilated front seats, a premium Canton sound system, and special laminated glass for a quieter cabin experience.

In keeping with the design trends of 2024, the Kodiaq RS boasts split headlights, 20-inch wheels in a two-tone finish, and a large 13-inch infotainment tablet. It joins the Octavia RS as the only Skoda models featuring visible dual exhaust tips, adding to its sporty appeal. Inside, the customizable round touchscreens on the center console offer quick access to preferred functions, making the Kodiaq RS a compelling option for SUV lovers looking for something that brings both performance and tech without the luxury price tag.
