Since I was a little kid, my family never ate meat on Friday l still strictly follow that tradition as a reminder of “Jesus giving His Life for Us.”Amen ✝️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Meat was more luxurious back then and only eaten in celebration and feasts. On Friday, we’re not really “celebrating” Jesus’s death, so rather than feasting, we choose to do penance by offering something like meat up to God just as he offered himself for us.

As a kid I lived in a small town during the Baby Boom years. Catholics always had the biggest families and about half the kids I went to school with were Catholic. That meant every single Friday the cafeteria at school served fish sticks. EVERY * SINGLE * FRIDAY.
