I have issues keeping my moss pole from drying out. It seems it dries out in a day if i don’t constantly dump water on it. Do you have any advice?

Do all species of Siltepecana size up and fenestrate like that? I just got some cuttings but I'm pretty sure its just the regular Siltepecana and I would love if it sized up. Definitely putting these 2 cuttings on a pole once they root out now.
