Dance Into The Sun (Kevin Houben) grade 3

Dance into the Sun by composer Kevin Houben was commissioned by Banda de Musica de Felanitx (Mallorca, Spain), on the occasion of the bicentennial anniversary of the orchestra in 2020.
Felanitx is a community in the Spanish province Balearics (on the island Mallorca) which is famous for its wine. The composition is part of a major project in which they wanted to connect music and wine.
There are 5 wine cellars in Felanitx and for each different wine one applicable composition was written. The wine that belongs to this composition is the ‘Castell de Santueri Rouge’ , whose origin lies in the medieval castle of Santueri. A wine with a spirit, fresh and round. You can taste the mediterranean climate.
Felanitx is apart from its wine also renowned for … its sunny climate! Kevin Houben wrote this cheerful Dance into the sun at a renaissance rhythm. The piece opens with a flute solo in which the main theme appears. After the opening passage a feeling of energy and joy occurs, light and sparkling, as a sunlit day at the ‘Castillo de Santueri’ and as a tribute to the abundance of nature.

“Dance into the Sun” vom Komponisten Kevin Houben wurde anlässlich des 200. Geburtstags der „Bande de Música de Felanitx (Mallorca, Spanien) im Jahr 2020 durch das Orchester in Auftrag gegeben.
Felanitx ist eine Gemeinde in der spanischen Provinz „Balearen“ (auf der Insel Mallorca), bekannt für ihren Wein. Die Komposition entspring aus einem Projekt, in dem es die Absicht war, Wein und Musik miteinander zu verbinden.
In Felanitx gibt es 5 Weinkeller und für jeden einzelnen Wein wurde eine passende Komposition geschrieben. Der zugehörige Wein zu dieser Komposition ist der „Castell de Santueri Rouge“, dessen Ursprung das mittelalterliche Schloss Santueri ist. Ein Wein mit Temperament, frisch und vollkommen. Man schmeckt das mediterrane Klima.
Neben dem Wein ist Felanitx auch bekannt für … die Sonne! Kevin Houben hat diesen fröhlichen Tanz in der Sonne zu einem Renaissance-Rhythmus geschrieben. Die Querflöte eröffnet das Werk mit einem Solo und präsentiert das Hauptthema. Nach der breiten Eröffnungspassage entsteht ein Gefühl von Energie und Freude, leicht und funkelnd, so wie ein sonnenüberfluteter Tag an dem „Castillo de Santueri“ und als Ehrerweisung an die Reichtümer der Natur.

Felanitx est une communauté de la province espagnole des Baléares (sur l'île de Majorque) qui est célèbre pour son vin. La composition fait partie d'un grand projet dans lequel les commanditaires ont voulu relier la musique et le vin.
Il y a 5 caves à vin à Felanitx et pour chaque vin, une composition différente a été écrite. Le vin qui fait partie de cette oeuvre est le "Castell de Santueri Rouge", dont l'origine se trouve dans le château médiéval de Santueri. Un vin avec un esprit, frais et rond. Vous pouvez goûter le climat méditerranéen.
En plus de son vin, Felanitx est réputé pour ... son climat ensoleillé ! Kevin Houben a écrit cette joyeuse Danse au soleil sur un rythme de la renaissance. Le morceau s'ouvre sur un solo de flûte dans lequel est présenté le thème principal. Après l'ouverture, un sentiment d'énergie et de joie apparaît, léger et pétillant, comme une journée ensoleillée au 'Castillo de Santueri' et comme un hommage à l'abondance de la nature.

Felanitx is een gemeente in de Spaanse provincie Balearen (op het eiland Mallorca) die geroemd wordt voor haar wijn. De compositie kadert in een project waarbij men muziek en wijn met elkaar wilde verbinden.
Er zijn 5 wijnkelders in Felanitx en voor elke verschillende wijn werd één bijhorende compositie geschreven. De wijn die bij deze compositie hoort, is de ‘Castell de Santueri Rouge’, die afkomstig is van het middeleeuwse kasteel van Santueri. Een wijn met temperament, fris en rond. Je proeft het mediterrane klimaat.
Felanitx is naast haar wijn ook gekend om … de zon! Kevin Houben schreef deze vrolijke dans in de zon op een renaissanceritme. Het werk opent met een dwarsfluitsolo waarin het hoofdthema naar voren komt. Na de brede openingspassage ontstaat een gevoel van energie en vreugde, licht en sprankelend, zoals een zonovergoten dag aan het “Castillo de Santueri” en als eerbetoon aan de rijkdom van de natuur.
