You can actually set up custom button assignments directly on your PlayStation 4 (PS4) controller without the need for third-party accessories. Here's how you can do it:

Turn on your PS4 console and navigate to the "Settings" menu on the main screen.

Scroll down and select "Accessibility" from the list of options.

In the Accessibility menu, choose "Button Assignments."

Enable the "Customize Button Assignments" option by toggling the switch to the right.

Select "Customize Button Assignments" to access the button remapping options.

In the Button Assignments screen, you'll see a list of the PS4 controller buttons and their default functions.

To remap a button, select the button you want to change. For example, if you want to swap the X and O buttons, choose the "X" button.

Once you select a button, you'll be prompted to choose a new function for it. You can choose from a list of available functions or select "Custom" to set a specific action.

Follow the on-screen instructions to set the new function for the button. You can choose from various options such as other controller buttons, touchpad gestures, or even system-level functions.

Repeat the process for any other buttons you wish to remap.

After you have customized the button assignments to your liking, select "OK" or "Apply" to save the changes.
