Dana Dan is a graphic commentary on sexual assault and the need to eliminate it. It begins with the reflexive, almost homicidal rage we feel when we hear about these crimes, before moving on to a more level headed call to arms. It culminates in a gentle appeal for all of us to reflect on the role we play in creating a world where atrocities of this nature are committed and to work towards eliminating it altogether.

this is EXACTLY what metal is for; sticking up for our fellow people against terrible people doing horrible shit in order to bring on a better world. fantastic song.

"I put a fist through the face of a rapist and yeah, I tape this, for the viewing pleasure of the nameless faces he disgraces."
Best opening line in music history.

Damn, "fuck every man for himself, it's every man for every man", this is exactly the train of thought that the people of today's world need to have. Having the dancers do that hardcore step and headbang was a perfect touch too.

It happened to me too. I was 19. I couldn't walk for 3 days after. After all these years, I still really really want to scream. Thank you for this.

“Not all men. Yes all men, need all men for what we’re solving.” This line! This line all day!!!

As a man who was assaulted sexually, I really appreciate that the victims are gender neutral. I felt included in a way I don't always get to in these conversations and with how powerful this song was, it felt like a pretty bad ass thing to be included in.

“If words don’t change them, they can taste my boot!” Damn! I felt that.

I've come here after I heard about the incident in a hospital in India, I hope justice will come to the victim. I can't believe authorities are protecting someone who killed and raped a sleeping doctor brutally. No woman in that hospital is safe until the one responsible is locked up for life. I hope all the protests will be heard. Thank you guys for making this song, still one of my favorites.

There was an Indian woman in the comments saying she cried the first time hearing this... it's like my 20th time and I still tear up. Being a near victim of trafficking and later abuse as a child... a freakish Japanese red headed green eyed girl... I was an exotic prize for monsters and blamed my entire life for it. This was in America by the way. So any ignorant people need to realize this happens everywhere. Right in front of your faces. Because you let it happen. Now that I am older and I broke free, nearly dying to free my three sisters who were lucky not to be abducted but in a bad situation also... it feels so... freeing to hear that there are men that actually understand the pain and want to help... you can hear the rage and anger in their voices. You can feel that this is personal from the dancers. I hope that rage will fill you all with courage to rise up when things like this happen. The cycle stops with you.

I was robbed of my innocence by the husband of my mother's friend at 6. She covered up his actions, and told me to keep it secret. Dana dan hy sahih. We can no longer sacrifice indian women in the name of "saving face"

I'm not Indian, but I resonate with a lot of these lyrics. I was groped by a man in a mall, in front of my mother, who later denied what had happened to my face. Later in my life I was almost the victim of an attempted rape, by my boyfriend. Victims of rape should no longer be nameless, faceless numbers. We are no longer asking for recognition. We are ordering it.

As a Delhiite, I am so proud of these boys being fellow Delhiites. There's so much evil in our city, especially against girls and women. It makes me feel happy to know that there are boys like them who would stand up for us with us.

I never realized how badly I needed the words 'Indian Folk Metal' in my life until today. We appreciate good music with a good message in this house.
