Is intelligence a genetic trait? I know about the indirect evidence (like twin studies) for intelligence, but what about direct evidence? Like genes for intelligence?

My question, is that throughout years the son is always the one who carries the bloodline of the father, but to many cases where mother's have to prove who the father is in a maintenance case is always comes back that the daughter carries 90% of the father's DNA and the son the mother's, so to me it's actually the daughter that carries the fathers bloodline !! It's always puzzled me.
