How can we know God is to be trusted? It is the same question Abraham asked in Genesis 15 and it is the same question we are asking today. God provides the answer later in that chapter in a stunning way that should grab our attention! Abraham asked how he could know (Gen 15:8). God's answer was to show Abraham that God could be trusted in all things. God demonstrates this trust through an ancient means of making a deal.

The same is true in the New Testament with Jesus at the Last Supper. He does some teaching that shows that God can be trusted.

With the help of history, archaeology and Bible study we can show that God is to be trusted, that we can put our faith in Him to make good on even the promises that seem impossible!

This is a lesson in Christian epistemology that I hope encourages you today.

At His first coming Jesus filled the role of the Lamb of God and shed His blood
for our sins. At His second coming He Will fill the role of the Lion of the tribe of Judah
and destroy His enemies because of their sins

Why is your apparel red, and your garments like his who treads in the winepress?
I have trodden the winepress alone, and from the peoples no one was with Me;
I trod them in my anger and trampled them in my wrath, their lifeblood spattered
On my garments, and stained all my apparel.” ~ Isaiah 63:2-3
