This is the perfect example of a great voice without a good vocal range. Extreme talent that you have to have an eye to see and an ear to hear. In the days we live in. Where every non talented a-hole can over sing the simplest of songs and get a standing ovation...this is a breath of fresh air. The fact that he was a " highway man" is even more impressive !

This song reminds me way back when I was an innocent girl, not knowing what is love, how to love and be loved. In my generation of growing up, this song was popular amongst men and women when there's a gathering. I remember when one evening someone was singing this song serenading one of the ladies and I was like..oh my.. 🙃 and then years passes by, I became a woman myself, still young but I understand what's the meaning of the song 😊 love you Kris Kristofferson! I watch this song over & over point it's April 2023 and I still love this good guy Kris Kristofferson. He is absolutely number one in the world, a legendary Talent. I respect his life. Always amazed, I admire him, because he is respecting the life of all people. I always I have tears in my eyes when I hear this song. The songs he wrights and sing have deep lyrics, they are clear & understandable. The riffs are flowing from his heard into his Finger. Amazing men he is one of the best singer/songwriter of the whole world.
Kris go forward, Kris never stop singing.
