Coming from a old school military Veteran of Vietnam was a Security Specialist USAF my question is why did our Government and our Military didn't stop this spy balloon before it hit America Airspace because with Technology we have today this never should have happened so what is the real story behind this balloon issue more to this than meets the eye.

Looks more like they overreacted and used a F-22 to shoot down a weather balloon whose ropes snapped. Who tf uses an untethered balloon (whose fate is decided by the wind) for surveillance?
