Rating EVERY MAJOR Potential Next James Bond Actor | 2022 Edition

We are without an incumbant Bond so it's only natural that one of the hottest topics of conversation in the fandom is who is the best man to follow Daniel Craig in the tuxedo. Here are my thoughts!

At this point I wonder if a qualification for being a Bond actor is ‘could you also be a Bond villain?’ Seriously, Idris Elba, Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy, I feel like they would make great villains.

I don’t see Idris Elba as Bond, but given he’s now in “authority figure” range I can easily see him as the new M.

1) Henry Cavill: Like Dalton and Brosnan before him, he feels like he was destined to play Bond
2) Richard Madden: With this being the 60th anniversary of the Bond films and next year being the 70th anniversary of the Bond novels having a Scottish actor playing Bond would be a nice tribute to the late Sir Sean Connery and a nice nod to Bond's Scottish ancestry.
3) Aiden Turner: I hadn't ever though of him playing Bond, but the photo that you used immediately made me think of Fleming himself, which let's be honest, Bond is Fleming (or whom he always wanted to be) and of The Daily Express cartoon from the 1950's.

Wasn't sold on Henry Cavill until I saw him Mission Impossible: Fallout and that changed my mind. Tough and ruthless with a dark edge, still balanced with a touch of humour; great in a fist fight, great chemistry with his cast mates. Actually, thinking about it he's actually the perfect hybrid Bond. The tough physical presence, body and dark edge of Dalton & Craig, with the charm, suaveness and humour of Moore and Dalton. The defence rests Your Honour.

The thing about Cavill is that he apparently really wants the role and that enthusiasm may be enough to break the tradition of not casting established A listers. He may even be willing to take a lower than normal salary if he wants it that much. He seems like a fairly decent and down to earth guy too.

Calvin Dyson gets my vote and a full martini glass for the next James Bond! I can see the headlines now: "Popular Bond YouTuber makes the first influencer for the role of James Bond in the history of the franchise." Calvin Dyson is suave and humorous, and has done very good acting in the skits I've seen him in. He can do some good serious roles, though humor is his best attribute. We need a change of pace and get back some of the campy humor from the Roger Moore era of James Bond. Also, who better to play the role of James Bond than someone that covers the character and knows everything about him? So if you also think Calvin Dyson would make a fantastic James Bond and want him in the role, like this comment so casting directors will see and give him a much deserved audition!

I'm betting on Cavill. Given the success of the Craig films and the folks at Amazon, we're going A-lister, big budget, immediate splash. Like others have said, Cavill wants the role and might take lesser salary on more points to play the icon.

Henry Cavill might be too well known to play Bond at this point, but I still think he'd be perfect in a period Bond taking place in the 60's as a nod to the classics. Maybe just a one off. I think Bond needs to do some wild things to shake up the formula.

I'm hoping they go for a Bond who will bring a different tone, rather than trying to aim for someone who audiences will accept as a new Daniel Craig. One of the things that I think makes Bond as a franchise is the fact that it has different eras that are distinct from each other.

I'd go for either Richard Madden or Aiden Turner as Bond. Luke Evans would have been great when he was younger, but also I think he could be a solid "M" in the future

Since Barbara Broccoli has said recently that they’re planning on taking a break from the franchise for the time being, some actors are likely going to age out before they cast the next Bond. That in mind, I hope they don’t take too long, because I really would like to see Richard Madden in the role.

Aiden Turner is my first choice from the possible candidates. I think he'd be received quite well by Bond fans and the general public as Craig's successor.

Cavill has portrayed both dark and cool sides of James Bond.
He was a rage fueled machine in M:I-Fallout.John Lark (his character) reminded me so much of Craig and Dalton's Bond in terms of brutality, intensity and menacing presence.He even was arrogant and cocky which reminded me of Craig in Casino Royale.
But he also proved himself as a suave and cool superspy in U.N.C.L.E.
I think he really can nail the rule and checks all the boxes.
If EoN wants to break the traditions and hires a high profile A-Lister, he is the one.

If Josh O’Connor bulked up I legitimately think he would be a great Bond. He’s the right age, he’s got the look, he’s had a solid career without being a household name, and he’s an incredible actor.

I personally go with Cavill because of his performance as Napolean Solo in Man from U.N.C.L.E which is actually a character Ian Fleming created. Check out that movie by the way guys its heavily underrated and deserves more love Cavill is excellent in it and I think that Movie in some ways Acts like a audition tape for Cavill as Bond.

Aiden Turner in "And then there were none" was absolutely terrific. He did bring a sense of menace and danger to the role similar to Dalton, but better looking and extremely charming. Think he'd fit the role perfectly, while putting his own spin on it as well
