Viscose rugs have become popular over the last ten years. It’s commonly called art silk, faux silk or even bamboo silk. Strangely, it is one of the cheapest fabrics to produce and not uncommon to see viscose rugs being sold for extraordinary prices. The problem with viscose is that it readily absorbs liquid and disintegrates easily. Inexperienced cleaners often end up ruining viscose rugs buy trying to clean one using water or common household chemicals.

Is there another material that feels and looks like viscose but DOESNT have these issues you are aware of? Price point doesn’t matter just curious what I could get that looks and feels the same but I wouldn’t have to cry that I ruined it by accidentally spilling water on it.

I bought a $4000 viscose Rug and it was ruined a year later. A cleaning company told me it would be $1000 to clean and it couldn’t be guaranteed. Companies that sell viscose are ripping you off unless you plan to not walk on it!

You are so right, look good new, 1 vomit from my cat and attempt at spot clean, stained. Never again!

Light prespray neutral distilled water. Dry compound extraction is the way to clean it.
