Used Citroën C4 Grand SpaceTourer Review: Spacious Family Comfort with a Touch of French Flair

In our review of the used Citroën C4 Grand SpaceTourer, we explore why this versatile MPV remains one of the best choices for families looking for a practical, comfortable, and spacious vehicle. Offering seven seats, a flexible interior, and Citroën's trademark smooth ride, the Grand SpaceTourer is perfect for family road trips, daily school runs, or even long motorway journeys.

The C4 Grand SpaceTourer excels at what it was built for - family practicality. With its clever use of space, adjustable seating, and class-leading storage options, this people carrier offers plenty of room for passengers and luggage alike. While SUVs have become to go-to choice for most families, the Grand SpaceTourer stands out for its sheer space and comfort, ideal for families needing more than just five seats without compromising on comfort or ride quality.

Powered by a range of efficient petrol and diesel engines, the Grand SpaceTourer provides a good balance between performance and fuel economy no matter what you choose. Whether you’re looking at the economical 1.6-litre BlueHDi diesel engine or the zippy 1.2-litre PureTech petrol option, the Grand SpaceTourer delivers a smooth driving experience, ideal for long-distance travel or daily commuting.

The Citroën C4 Grand SpaceTourer offers a well-thought-out interior that prioritises passenger comfort. With comfortable and supportive seats, a panoramic windscreen for better visibility, and a large boot, it’s built with family journeys in mind. The rear seats can be easily folded down to offer flexible cargo space, while features like dual-zone climate control and an intuitive infotainment system ensure everyone stays comfortable and connected.

Citroen is known for its smooth suspension, so its no surprise that the Grand SpaceTourer delivers a serene driving experience, absorbing bumps to keep passengers comfortable even on longer journeys. It's an ideal car for those who value comfort over sportiness, making it perfect for daily family use.

As a used MPV, the Citroën C4 Grand SpaceTourer represents excellent value for money. With many well-equipped models available on the used market, families can benefit from its spaciousness, practicality, and comfort at a fraction of the price of alternatives such as the Ford S-Max - although the S-Max does offer a far more dynamic driving experience. It’s a strong contender if you’re after a dependable and comfortable family car with ample space.

Real shame the market has moved away from the MPV. We had a Grand Scenic for years when my children were younger; brilliant versatility. MPVs are still the best family transport l.

Got a 1.2 petrol he’s a little biased, has plenty of power and pull loaded and unloaded . Dint realise when I purchased it it was only 1.2 very surprised when I found out.

We have had 2 C4 Picasso cars as family cars, the first was a standard, the second a grand. Sadly the latest "Space Tourer" (not the one in this video) is a van with additional seats and has lost the appeal of the C4 versions.
Citroen should have retained the purpose built MPV as a long range EV, since the current SUV/ crossover offering (I now own a C5 aircross)is nowhere near as spacious, practical or flexible, and the visibility is comparatively poor.
Mass market car makers have lost their way and have stopped listening to what customers really want.
Both of the cars were "auto", a 1.6 petrol in the first one and a 2.0 blue hdi in the second. Both were good but the diesel was the better of the two, and has adequate power, even with all 7 seats occupied.
