Well. You really enjoyed a quiet and dry day on the black mountain. A lot of nasty accidents have lead to that limit. The roads and carparks have been really improved too. I've ridden it in torrential weather and it's really not nice.
Average allows for some variance.
20 mph is coming into effect in a lot of areas in Wales. Times are changing unfortunately.

Next time you are in Wales and on your way home, head for Monmouth on the dual carriageway, then take a right at the traffic lights over the bridge, then another right at the mini roundabout and head for Tintern down that road.
You'll love it, cracking road.

Nice video of the Black Mountains and yes it was me that followed you from the roundabout at Llandeilo up to the junction for the Black Mountains on my new Transalp (running it in) and I did try to shout at the junction at Llangadog when you were looking at your sat nav to see where you wanted to go as the Owls Nest cafe is to the left (the way you first went) and is not far from that junction. Keep up the great videos.

Hi, if you ever do this road again try the single track road off the A4069 (on the left as you go through Pontarllechau heading towards Upper Brynamman : there is a sign for a Red Kite feeding centre).Go through Talsam and head towards Trecastle.Fantastic scenery.Richard Bristol (Honda 500 CBX)

Although speed cameras are gonna absolutely destroy the hotel market in Wales. Bikers and campers won't wanna go there. Which is unfortunate because Wales is such a beautiful part of the country. Nice video, by they way

a local road for me was great fun at quieter times trying to get your line spot on as many of the bends you can see through, luckily for me i usually only pass one of the cameras so i can still play. There are no schools, shops just a couple of car parks with good visibility and one junction again easily seen, if people cant drive mountain roads dont go to them, poxy nanny state. I used to compete on car rallies and this was a classic for that too that will never happen again, a real shame, what a sorry, boring world it is going to be. The Human spirit is becoming stifled by the likes of Drakeford, its good to see a little bit of practical reaction here and there good on ye boys and girls who do so. As others have said next time in the area get off the main roads.

I enjoy watching all your videos, I especially enjoyed this one as I live in South Wales and this is one of my regular rides to the Black mountain pass. Real shame about the cameras, but hay-hoy they’re called safety cameras lol. Keep safe as you journey friends 👍.

Lucky to have this road on my doorstep. Glad you enjoyed the views. You should have had one of Kev's Ice creams when you stopped. Dem's the rules! 😎

Tintern road is great, live near Ross so not too far a ride for me and have been down Tintern way many times. Must go and do that Top Gear road. May take a metal cutting chainsaw with me?

We did the same Brecon Pass week last Sunday, four of us from Devon, but the other way. We stopped at the same car park to get an ice cream and take pictures, did you see the skeleton in the passenger seat of the van? Some great roads around there but agree about the speed limits but at least you can see the scenery.

I recognised that Mustang, I must have been about 15 minutes behind you over the Black Mountain pass... my first time. I agree that 40 MPH is a bit restrictive, I do a lot of UK touring and have found lots of twisty / risky roads are 50 mph, which seems a good compromise. The problem however is not skilled riders and drivers but those who get it wrong. When it all goes wrong up there, it's far enough away from anywhere to be a real issue for the emergency services or best case for a recovery vehicle to come and get the bike / car, and going the opposite way to the way we rode it, there are some very long drops on the edge of the road! Of course there will still be accidents, people will always push it too far, so I guess only time will tell if all that camera expense was worthwhile. Still an amazing ride though.

Not sure the average speed cameras are a problem. Doesn't take much of a stop to drop your average speed way down ;)

The cameras have been destroyed by strong winds 😏 and the road is better run from the other direction 👍
