Durvet Sheep Drench contains the following on the package: "Ivermectin Sheep Drench is administered orally at a dose of 3ml (2.4mg ivermectin) per 26 lbs body weight or 200mcg ivermectin per kilogram of body weight." According to my calculations, one dose of 3ml (ml is the same as cc) will contain 2, 400 mcg of ivermectin. When I look at the packaging for Heartguard Plus (for dogs between 51-100lbs), it states that each chewable contains only 272 mcg ivermectin. In summary, 3ml of Ivermectin Sheep Drench contains close to 10 times the amount of Ivermectin in one Hearguard chew.

I have given this to my hunting dogs for years. I live in Florida and heart worms from skitters are everywhere. I started doing it 42 years ago! It works but make sure they don't already have them.

Yes! Thanks for your efforts. Some vets are good I know. But some will just keep gouge at your wallet knowing how much we love our friends. Today I'm lifted up and will subscribe. Thanks again Michael

Thank you for the information. I just talked to my vet and they wanted $320 for heartguard and flea and tick medicines.

Does this keep the fleas and ticks off as well? And if not do you have a cheap alternative to that? Thank You in advance.

My vet retired and hired a group of young new vets. They gave my GSD the wrong heartworm treatment and my poor boy had random, uncontrollable, projectile diarrhea!!! Called my vet and they couldn't explain why that happened but said I could buy their other brand but they wouldn't refund the other one... I miss my old vet!!! 😭🤬

If your dog has ever taken Heartguard without issue, they should be fine to use this method. I have a border collie (herding dog) who has had no issue with Ivermectin through Heartguard. It just depends if they have the gene for the Ivermectin sensitivity. We are switching him to this method to save money. Consult with your vet ALWAYS before.

Do you have a scale to determine dosage? Mine are about 15 pounds or so.

Does anyone have any experience with administering Ivermectin to dogs in battling cancer, specifically TCC? I keep coming across holistic medical info that there has been numerous success stories of humans treating various types of cancer using a dog dewormer such as Ivermectin. I have concerns that administering monthly dosages is not enough... I'd have to imagine that to battle cancer cells (especially in the urinary tract, bladder region) a more frequent dosage would need to be administered? Perhaps weekly? Any info anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.

So do you just squirt it in their mouth? And how did you figure .3cc? My dog is 80 lbs would it be .1cc per 10lbs?

If my dogs have had Heartgard and did well on it, would they be safe to use this? I think they would be since Heartgard has ivermectin as the active ingredient, but just want to be sure.

How would the dosage be per weight or is it just the safe for all dogs with the same dosage mentioned?
