CORRECTION: Looks like I made a mistake on how I stated Marquez's record. I just checked how that happened and it looks like I'd written out a factually correct sentence in my script and then read it wrong and didn't catch it. I apologize for the mistake. I try my best to get records, stats, dates and name pronunciations correct. I do have the same person who edits fact check the script when they get it. Luckily doesn't change the video very much so no big deal :)

i appreciate that you mentioned how he kept his balance. footwork and balance are so hard, especially if you evade in pretty weird angles like floyd did later on. the more i learn the more he becomes my favourite

Marquez is no slouch by any means. He had the blueprint for Pacquiao. This was one of Floyd's greatest wins. A boxing masterpiece. Any pure boxing fan knows this.🥊

The reflexes of Mayweather are just incredible. One of his greatest weapons.

When this match up happened I remember not liking it because Floyd would have such a size advantage. Then I watched it and realized that's not why he won. He completely shut down Marquez game

Marquez v Pacquiao finale was of the greatest sporting experiences as a spectator ever.
Hard to imagine how high Marquez felt.

Your observation on just how impactful such a subtle shift from defense to offense can be is impressive! Really blows your mind if you think about it too much.

7:33 Mayweather shows that staying on balance always pays off. Masterful shifting of body weight and movement. Truly awesome.

when you break it down like this you see that Mayweather's greatest strength was a genius level boxing IQ. the man genuinely knows everything there is to know about boxing.

I know it's off topic, but I love that Ali - D'Amato interaction.

Very cool to see someone talk about this particular fight with so much nuance.

No one. And I mean, no one has ever beaten Marquez with such ease.
This was one of, if not, the most glorious performance of Floyd's career.

Marquez didnt give up till the last second
It was the first time i had ever seen a fighter get dominated both mentally and physically and still not give up till the last second.

Easily one of Floyd's best wins, and the fact it was against one of his most notable opponents really shows just how skilled he was. Man knew he was faster and had more technical defense and he absolutely took advantage.

One of his best performances I've seen. This was after an almost two-year layoff just imagine had he not had that layoff how much better he would have been
