My dad bought a 1979 Ford Bronco he bought new. I was 9. Drove our scout troop all over with it. Towed a camper trailer with it. And I learned to drive on it. Enjoyed this video, the truck tour and hearing about you and your dad alot!!

My first car was my grandfather's 1981 Ford 150. Extended cab. Loved that truck. You could reach every single part under the hood. Repairs were so easy (and frequent). Miss it.

I proposed to my wife in a hot air balloon. (She had never flown before). Scared her into saying yes I guess...lol. Anyhow, that truck looks IMMACULATE for its age. So glad to see you have taken care of it!

Succulents CAN be over-watered - the roots need to dry out between watering. Your senecio (chalk sticks) and the plant with red stems and greenish/yellow petals will soon fill in everything and look fabulous.

Wow, love the old trucks. I've got a 65, 69, 75, 77, 79, 95, 96. The 65 doesn't have seat belts and the 69 and 75 have lap belts. And ya they take up room but there fun.

There's a place here in Sacramento called the Carburetor Factory that can rebuilt or get just about anything you need.

Not sure if you're up for doing collaborations, but doing this video with EricTheCarGuy would've had a lot of opportunities for interaction and humor. Eric has a treasured truck from his father, he likes carburetors, and he once did a video on "Cars That Sit".

I thought the same thing when your garden went out of control after the winter, it would've been funny for the normally mild-mannered Midwest Man Mountain to roll his eyes at what happened, then recommend what to do about it.

76 was the first year for f 150 to have a converter I think the 75 f100 had a converter.

Check your transmission fluid while the truck is running. For the delay in acceleration. i bet its low

If you want a ford V8 worked on, find a classic Mustang club. The truck part will be difficult, but a Ford V8 engine and transmission, much like a Chevy V8, will have stuff available for ever. ;-)

My stepson has the same truck. It gets 9mpg and a top speed of 55mph due to overheating.

Have any idea what your MPG is on the truck?

If it's an F-150, why does it say Ranger on the dash on the passenger side?

I can't believe California even allows your awesome truck on the road still with all the EPA regulations and other BS. Did you have to add any extra emissions control devices that is only required by California?

It's a truck that runs and stops and is paid for, if you ever think one of these would be expensive to maintain and keep gas in you really need to look at how expensive new ones are to make payments on, license and insure. For only a few months worth of payments and insurance on even a "small" new truck you could get everything (mechanical) on the old truck fixed. The problem with old vehicles is that spending what would equal one month's payment on a new one seems like a massive amount for something you haven't had to spend much on in the past, and asking a mechanic to look for things that might be the next problem to keep it reliable is even more foreign.  So if you have your heart set on a new one go for it, but don't try to say it would be cheaper,   because it really isn't. Heck being so close to some of the greatest technological minds in the world there are probably multiple businesses within 50 miles that do electric conversions and with your viewer base you could probably work out a sweet advertising deal to cheapen it up!
