I've had all manner of 120 cameras. The Rolleiflex and the Mamiya are my favourites. Hasselblad are good - when they're working. They are incredibly expensive to repair and many repairers are incompetent.

I bought one a couple of years ago for about 400 uk. Sold it, regretted it ever since, and bought one again last night for... 1100 uk 🤷‍♂️😂

Did you ever use a 645 AFD? I am between a Pro TL and the nice looking AFD (I, II or III) with filmback.

Note to the videographer...we want to look at the CAMERA, not at you...no offense.

Hi Max, Im trying to decide between Hasselblad 503cw with 645 back and 90 degree prism finder with metering and Mamiya 645 Pro TL
With prism and metering. How much would I be losing in optics if anything? I know there is a price difference. Also which do think would be more reliable and easier to get fixed? Thanks

I loved this camera! The amount of film saved vs 6 X 9 or even 6 X 6 was twice as much and the size of the negative was twice as much as the 35 mm film! In the era of film scanning it meant higher resolution for printing and cheaper cost per frame. The Mamiya lenses were made with great pride and the components made for this camera allowed the professional to grow in satisfied needs!

Thinking of getting a Mamiya 645 Super or Pro to replace my RB67 for the extra long hikes. Which do you recommend, the 80mm f1.9 or 2.8N? Which is sharper?

Hey! I see you have the AE viewfinder for the SUPER. Does the meter work with the PRO TL?

Hi Max, I would like to add a little info for everybody that is interested in buying a Mamyia 645. Your Mamiya 645 Pro TL seems to have a very comfortable grip. I own the Mamiya 645 Super. The motor-grip on the camera is a ergonomic catastrophe. One might take this into consideration and prefer the 645 Pro TL over other versions of the camera.

Thank you for the video. You and Jules built up a wonderful channel. In the past two weeks I watched almost all videos. They have binge watching potential :-)

Hi Max, we seem to share a lot in common. I also own Mamiya M645 Pro with 4 out of the 8 lenses, Contax G1, 3 Rolleiflex TLRs (3.5 Tessar, 3.5 Planar, 2.8 Xenotar), Rollei 35 rangefinder (Tessar, made in Germany), two Nikon F5s, lenses from 18mm to 300mm) Nikon N90s with accessories, Nikon N50. Previously owned the Mamiya 7 (wish I still did), and a friend in Luxembourg is giving me a near mint Mamiya 6 wiith all lenses, boxes, manuals, and a fresh CLA.

I also own a small collection of Agfa cameras and ephemera. Only camera I don’t own is the Leica M6 or M7. Perhaps one day. Your videos are great, and I always look forward to a new one.

Thanks for sharing,

Joe
