Killua Removes Illumi's Needle

I'm left wondering how Killua knew Illumi had planted a needle in his head, especially when nobody had told him? If someone could explain this, I'd be happy to hear the answer. Either way intense moment.

Everytime I rewatch this anime, I always say "Man, if only I can pretend I'm watching it for the first time again" but then continues to rewatch the whole series with excitement anyway.

The animating here is *chefs kiss*- killua’s expression after removing the needle is soooo well done. Just pure relief and happiness, freedom. Overall this whole scene is just really done well in conveying killua’s emotional state.

This is one of my favorite scenes in the anime. All this time Killua has hated himself for running away and abandoning Gon, but he finally realizes that it has been Illumi's needle that made him run. They brilliantly displayed the sense of freedom he has, at last he is no longer the Zoldyck heir, but instead the hunter Killua.
