It’s not as bad as I thought, it’s harder to get used to the lighter blue when we have so many darker blue figures but seems like it doesn’t stick much kinda . A complaint for me is I really wish the costume makers made the boot design more similar to the original clone boots

Im ok with basically all the changes except the blue. The darker blue looks better to me

So happy to see that you like this, it’s sad so many people seem to have some type of bias to this figure even though it’s better looking than the OG imo. This figure pops so much more in my display with lighting than the OG version. Great review! Keep up the great work Justin!

Even though there are scratches on the figure, the light blue just makes everything look so clean. Yeah, I think I would prefer a darker blue

I really REALLY hope they make troopers with this exact mold but not glossed. I love all the joints and movement it has! Was thinking about snagging one!

Wow this is a hard one.
I think if i absolutely had to pick, I like the old more, however the new does look waaay more like a real dude, especially when you look at the hip area, not a fan of the gap in the armor on the new but also it's all way more realistic. I still like the visor of the original more and I both love and dislike the gloss. The more I look at it, I dislike it, but then if I take a break for a second and look back, it looks so good, very weird feeling. The articulation looks reaaally good so that's another plus. I'm also bias, lol, I don't want Disney to win out on anything when they've sucked at so much other stuff, especially my favorite guys 😆

They really skimped out on the accessories wow. Honestly i think HT did a great job shrinking this guy to figure format and I understand the practicality of it. However, it’s so different vs AOTC/ROTS/CW and absolutely correct on clashes with the existing clone shelf. Im also a little confused why the chest armour is so loose though? Pass for me. Clone wars style imo superior.

I appreciate you like this figure, and to anyone who does, great! I do kind of resent and get confused though by the number of people who are comparing this to the old one, which one is better etc... Which is not how it should imo. Like of course this looks more proportionate, there was a person in there. This is different to the clones that are based on the revenge of the Sith CGI model, which Hot Toys have based their figures on for the CW clones. Most of the 501st was reuse from Cody, which was a great replica from the ROTS one. I'm worries that Hot Toys is going to hear everyone saying this is a nice figure (which I'm sure it is), and decide to base their CW and AOTC/ROTS clones on this body. I don't want that. Not only would that cause a massive upset to my wallet having to swap out figures, but also create this weird dynamic where some clones look a certain way, and other a different. Personally, I would also stick to the original.

Worth noting though, there is no evidence that the above is gonna happen. It might not. But I'm worried it will is all!
