The story about Gingy genuinely terrified me as a kid. I don’t know why, but it actually gave me nightmares as a kid

“That was the last Shrek special”

“No...there is another...”

Fun fact: Both this and Shrek the Halls were directed by the director of Beauty and the Beast, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Atlantis: The Lost Empire

7:07 "It ties into all *3* Shrek films..."

Oh, so he's dead serious on not couting Shrek the Third as part of the canon

I think Pinocchio hanging himself is actually a reference to the original messed up fairy tale by Carlo Collodi.

Basically, the story was originally supposed to end with Pinoke getting hung on a noose and killed. But because of how popular the stories were at the time, Collodi was told to continue the story with a happier ending...with the cost being that Collodi was allowed to add even more messed up stuff in the story.

I'm gonna be real with you. The vomit scene was the whole point of the scene given that in the original Exorcist movie, it does have a vomit scene with Linda Blair vomiting out pea soup, that being one of the most iconic scenes in the film in which this special parodies as its last segment.

The ghost of Farquad actually exists though. He’s in the universal ride

“It references all 3 shrek movies!” nice schaff.

"The Shreksorcist" sounds like a parody you'd find on the internet, so that segment is perfect.

I find it great how they tie this all back to Duloc, since that hasn't been relevant since the first movie. And in some pretty genius ways too.

In my head canon scared shrekless is the REAL shrek 3

Huh, they really referenced Pinocchio's book with him being hung and killing Jiminy Cricket. No joke, that's stuff from the original take of Pinocchio.

It’s like a Treehouse of Horrors, except it’s more a *Swamp Outhouse of Horrors.*

Them leaning into Gingy's freaky origins to tell a good horror story is really inspired.

The gingerbread mans story actually scarred me as a kid. It's the only one I remember, but gosh I know it like the back of my hand
