Dear Lord, I have been wronged and I’m angry/disappointed/hurt. I let the scenario replay in my mind and it consumes me. It prevents me from enjoying life. Please help me shed the shackles of pain and hurt. Show me how to move forward in light and love. I’m turning this hurt over to you today. I remember some time ago, in a season where I felt like I was walking through the fire, God told me that whenever I walk through the tunnel of flames, He is not outside cheering for me in every step. Instead, He is beside me, walking with me through the flames, feeling everything I am feeling as I took the journey. Crying with me in times of sorrow, and rejoicing with me in victories. What amazes me now is that it was only now, upon hearing this song and reading it’s reference to Daniel 3 that I realized that there is an actual biblical reference about Jesus walking with me in the fire. I mean, I knew about the story of the 3 men who were thrown in the fire and not burned but I didn’t know about that part where Jesus actually walked with them in it.

Now, I am again in a time where things feel so overwhelming and I’d always remind myself of the verse spoken over to me in a prophecy a few months ago. Isaiah 43:1-3 where God says “when you pass through the waters I will be with you and through the rivers they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned and the flames shall not consume you.”

It made more sense after listening to this song. The reason why I will not be burned when I walk through the fire is because “There is another in the fire, standing next to me.” And the reason why the waters will not overwhelm me is because “There is another in the waters, holding back the seas.”

I am in tears. I’m just so thankful that we have a God with whom we can freely be weak.
