This is the 1992 documentary "Wear Them With Pride" by Film Australia, which details the Royal Australian Navy's long retired Oberon-class submarine HMAS Ovens and its crew.

I have upscaled this to 1080p using the REAL-ESGRAN NVIDIA AI model, while keeping the 4:3 aspect ratio and increasing the frame rate to 48fps. As the source material is very old and grainy, this upscale contains a lot of natural artifacts, "frame page turning" nearly every scene, and what appears to be "plastic" textures from time to time. The quality is not spectacular, but I was pleased with the result.

While I did serve in the ADF, I was not in the Navy. My old man was, and he is somewhere in this documentary!

A better 4K version is in the works. This will take a while to do, but it should eliminate all the issues outlined in the description and provide an even clearer picture. Additionally, I am experimenting with cleaner audio as well, so if it all goes according to plan, you will be blessed with a truly HD copy of this classic!

As an ex - Royal Navy submariner who served on HMS/M Oberon second commission in 1965 I am very disappointed with this video. It certainly does not show the RAN submariners as the competent capable people I knew when bidding for equipment for the Colins class in the 1980's. Pity.
