Philippos Pliatsikas has booked a European tour, themed "The Other Side of Greece", promoting the essence of contemporary Greek culture through different Music genres and other forms of Art. A side of Greece shadowed by the Economic Crisis' bad press and yet an extremely bright, creative and productive one. Philippos Pliatsikas' European tour kicks off at The Forum, in London, presenting The Other Side of Greece.
The Other Side of Greece is no ordinary live music show. It's a multi-artistic approach to the Greek culture through time and trends. On stage, Philippos along with his friends: Eleonora Zouganeli, Babis Stokas, Georgia Ntagaki and the legendary Greek folk artist, Petroloukas Halkias will play songs that have been loved by three generations of music fans while our young guns' Gautier's tunes will bring the audience on the cutting edge of Greek music. Paintings and Videos will project the natural beauty of Greece, through the eyes of the youth, while the power of reason & words will be demonstrated by Greek poetry readings by a greek actor.
The show at The Forum will be honored on stage by Gordon Gano: lead singer, composer and founding member of the legendary post-punk band Violent Femmes! Violent Femmes' hits like Blister in the Sun, Kiss Off and Gone Daddy Gone have reached the top of the charts worldwide, producing a new wave of influence for many musical acts. Especially for The Other Side of Greece show in London, Gordon Gano will present an extract from his yet-to-be released album, a tribute to the Greek Poet, Kavafis.
