A local court in Kolkata has found Sanjay Roy, a 33-year-old former civic police volunteer, guilty in the gruesome rape and murder case of a trainee doctor at the state-run RG Kar hospital. He will be sentenced on Monday, bringing closure to the brutal incident that had shaken the nation last year. Brought to the crowded courtroom on Saturday afternoon amid tight security, Roy repeated his claim that he was being framed as his lawyers tried to calm him down. When he was being taken out, he claimed a certain "IPS" knew everything.

As a apolitical non technical citizen of India, Sanjay Rai is not the only guilty of rape and murder of the lady doctor. Possibly, he has been used by other conspirators who had planned and almost murdered her, and then used a totally drunken Sanjay to commit the crime. Sanjay definitely is guilty, but cannot be the sole accused. It was CBI who had initially found out that it is a preplanned murder, with larger conspiracy and evidences were destroyed. Now, CBI is possibly going back on their words due to tremendous political pressure. The case was with Calcutta High Court, which was taken suo motu by Honble Supreme Court, for reasons unknown. 7 status reports have been submitted by CBI to ex CJI, but neither SC nor CBI have disclosed.

Should have been left to the Kolkata police, instead of vesting the investigation by the CHC Divn bench to the CBI. It was they, who caught Roy and handed him over along with all the evidences collected to the CBI. What glorifying job they have done ?
