Hello my lovely peeps! Today's video, I'm reacting to Embrace: An Asexuality Focused Short Film. Asexuals don't have the best track record when it comes to being repped in the media so when I saw this short film I knew I had to reacted to it. I love seeing asexuals and asexuality being shown more and more and it's shorts like this made by wonderfully talented people that brings me hope for the future of queer media. Let me know in the comments what you think and if you want to see more content like this from me.

Don't apologise for crying, there are only 3 types of people who saw the film: the ones who don't get it, the ones who cry, and the ones who got their lacrimal glands removed

I'm Ace, but I never felt any of this pressure, or like this. When I found out, I quickly accepted it and moved on. But when I found out I was aro, I had a hard tiem accepting it and still am

One film that's great to watch for aros and aces is one of my favorites when I was a kid: Aquamarine. It's not specifically aro or ace, but basically the message is that there are many different types of love and they are all equally valid. That the love you have for your friends or family is not any less meaningful than romantic love. It was a message I definitely needed to hear as a kid.

“I have some thoughts”

Proceeds to try and not break

Honestly, i almost cried on this (and I’m NOT a crier) and seeing this literally just hit me in the chest like a bullet, and my heart feels as if it was stabbed…and it felt different and beautiful and my god did they nail the message

Happy Pride Lynn. We shall share our eye sweat together😭 (also I would LOVE a breakdown of this)

Lynn, have you ever read or talked about the book Loveless? This book and also your videos about the ace community helped me a lot through my journey. We need more ace and aro representation asap ❤

I loved it! And with your stamp of approval I added it to my ever growing LGBTQ notion!

It's so isolating to be ace online specifically too, because so much online content revolves around sex and sexual attraction, which isn't something I can relate to as an ace person.

This is such a lovely film. I cried too. Being in a QPR with a fellow aroace has been so healing. Thank you for making videos that helped me so much when I was coming to terms with this 💜

I got misty-eyed watching this too! I sometimes feel that I'm too ace to be gay, so I've never felt able to say, "I'm too gay for this." Imposter syndrome can strike us in the silliest ways...

Thank you so much for sharing this outstandingly phenom video. So many emotions were savored and tears were flowed. I have recently read two manga series: Is Love The Answer?and I Want to Be a Wall. Both are wonderful works that delve deep into asexuality. And yes, I have seen your video. 💜

Considering the fact that I had just come out as an asexual person (or an Ace) sometime ago this year, this animated short perfectly showcases how it feels to be someone with little or no sexual attraction to others, and I'll admit that I nearly cried at the part where the girl believes that she is broken while also feeling alone, since that's kinda how I felt for as long as I can remember when trying to find a certain someone in my life, and I was even able to check out some books from the library in my hometown that were even helpful when discovering my own sexuality as well.

My gosh. I remember watching this before, but going back to it now, it brought me to tears. I really hope asexuality is mentioned more in shows and movies in the the future.
