Verna Vasquez and Carolina Izsak both had the highest televised preliminary scores at MU history...and both missed out of the final 3 in 4th place by a narrow margin. At Miss USA in both 1992 and 1997, the front runner missed out of the top 3, leaving the door open for another to take the title.
