If the 4th D is time, and this thing changes shape at different times after being printed, i guess that's a fine enough argument to name it that, but it is a little bit extravagant for reality lol

whoa dude! im familiar with shape memory alloys, but polymer? awesome.
shape memory alloys can exert a scary amount of force. you wouldn't want your finger to be in the way. these, i assume dont, but that might be better/safer for biological implants

Wait why confuse people, it is still 3d. How in the world can we even comprehend anything beyond 3d. Yes time, but we cannot freaking print it.

You can definitely use this technology for orthodontics

Great for tendon and muscle repair maybe? I'm no scientist but that's is super cool 😎

Where do you even get a 4-D camera in the first places?

Why do people act like time is a dimension? Time is its own thing. Our 3d world had XYZ, a 4th dimensional one would have XYZ?, a 5th dimension would be XYZ??, time exists outside of our geometry, but signs of it can be found in our geometry, such as carbon dating, growth, or dust.

You can have time in a 1 dimensional space, or a 2d space, or a 3d space, and so on.

Describing time as a geometric dimension is just silly. It's like saying pop corn is made from corn kernels and microwave radiation. You wouldn't be COMPLETELY wrong, but you're not right.

What application, though? The possibilities are good but limited

Still waiting for the part where it falls/moves/disappears through your hand, tongs…idk, everything? You said 4-D right?

If you get confused by 3d vs 4d you don’t deserve a YouTube channel labeled science….

They want it to sound fancier than, plastic that returns to its molded shape after bending

People believe we’re living in 3D but it’s actually 1D

But foreals why not call it for what it is, moving 3d printed parts, not 4D it is going to confuse people
