The comp system is playable to a certain extent. Sometimes you get comped without even expecting it. I had a good contact with a PB once and the next visit saw I had been credited 2, 000 points (worth $40 in food or gasoline). I would expect she did it and that she has a certain amount of points to give away. Looking like someone who can play often and afford it plus has a great attitude (ie generous tipper but good social skills with the other players) will make them want to see you again, because you're bringing value.

It all depends on how you look at it. If I go to Las Vegas for three days and I lose $500, but I get a free room that would have cost me about the same amount of money, was I really a loser? I don't think so! I had some fun and it would have cost me that same amount of money to pay for the room. You just need to be careful that you don't gamble too much and overpay for your comps with big gambling losses! As a smart gambler I am able to avoid doing that and many other gamblers do the same.

It shouldn't matter how fast you play the machines, as long as you are actually playing and not just sitting there to get a free drink. However, you should always be sure to tip the cocktail server because they will be the person to decide if you should continue to get free drinks. I have heard of one trick to get a free drink without actually gambling. Go to the keno lounge and pick up some old keno receipts that you will see sitting around. Then sit in a chair and order a drink.

Between 1990-1995 i stayed at the Stardust Hotel free all the time. They use to mail me 2-3 night stays in the mail. just call them and let them know you coming in town and you got a room. I also got free buffett comps. it was a fun time in my life.

OK. I didn't realize that at the time I answered because your comment showed up in my inbox with no reference to it being about a previous post. You seem like a knowledgeable gambler who knows how to get the most value for your money when playing in a casino. Unfortunately, most people know very little about casino gambling and think just like the person you responded to.

I have found it easier and more convenient to charge my meals & shopping to my room by showing my key and then they take all/most of the charges (including room) off of my bill at the end of my stay when checking out.

Thats ok if you play a lot. Today I play only poker and dont get very much from the casino. But before I was a high roller on table games. I got everything free from the casino. International flights for me, my wife and my daughter. Free suites. Limo transport whereever I wanted. Shoppping in the casino shops. Food. Entrees to any Las Vegas show. Pay back if I lost. Anything you know was free. The difference is, before I lost a lot of money, now I win with only poker.

Most table games DO have slots to put the players cards in now a days. Seems like most just send 5-10 bucks a month (excluding some out of the way ones like river boats) with a room once or twice a year (in horrid time periods usually). Thought this might explain how people can get 50-100 bucks in rewards play a month with very few points and betting 25-50 cents in low amounts.

Does anyone know how closely the casino keeps track of your table play. For example if I sit down to play $100 and have the dealer alert the pitboss I'm putting up $100 of play, is that $100 immediately credited like I had played $100 in a slot machine. If so, couldn't I really play only $50 at black jack, stop playing and cash in the remaining $50 but still be credited with the $100 originally turned in?

2 questions for you guys, if you were to get a players card could you use the same card for machine and table games? The other question is when you get a card is it REQUIRED to give the casino your address?Obviously they need your name. I don’t want to worry about mailers or offers for fear of going to the casino and losing money as a result I’d rather earn and use comps when I’m there already. Just simple ones like small betting coupons or buffet comps

If I was to go to Vegas and earn comp points over the course of a week would I have to spend them before I head back home or could I save them up between multiple trips to Vegas?

What is the difference between an executive host and a director of player development ?

@ would have to disagree. My theory on gambling is this... the house (Casino) hold the edge on every game that is offered on the casino floor. By virtue of the rules and the pay out they have a clear advantage. Can a player win at a casino? Yes they can but the odds are against them, so for my risk I want something in return. If I'm going to risk my money in a venture that clearly has a casino advantage then I want every comp I can get. A free room, free meals, free play etc. We all try to win money but chances are we won't so I'm playing for the comps, as many as I can get.

You can log into your mlife account and click on "Get My Offers" to check for comps. That's where I always get mine.

I love the part about losing $200 to get a $10 buffet.. when I was at the MGM in Maryland, I blew $300 and they gave me a free fancy cheeseburger! Most expensive cheeseburger of my life! 🤣🤦
