Local Korean companies are really excited that Samsung and Sk Hynix will start buying their products instead of Japanese. It is really difficult to change supply chain once established, but Japan gave a very good reason to cut off all Japanese products. Thanks Abe! Oh and for those who didnt know, although South Korea is a small country, it was Japan's 3rd largest trade partner.

To be honest as a Korean, there will be a problem more or less in the process of switching the Japanese raw-material to another. When u see long-term, however, global semi-conductor providers (samsung, SK hynix, LG) ain't go anywhere and SK government has already set their mind toward investing a huge R&D to grow domestic suppliers while finding other foreign suppliers. So I'd like to say "Thanks Abe and his stupid cabinets" for kicking a money-sucking straw out of Korea.

A country with more than 236% debt to GDP should not be engaging in trade war for short term political gain/victories. It's just dumb.

Japan will lose a huge chunk of revenue from Korea, the analyst has got that part right. It just made Korea depend less on Japan by expediting R&D

Bye bye Japan

Summary; The small to medium-sized businesses including manufacturing industry in Korea will thrive in a long run anyway.

Just learnt that Japan’s Whitelist includes only US, Canada, Europe countries but none of Asia countries. What this mean??
Japan stated that they exclude SK due to their safety control in trade. This means that Japan considers all Asia counties are not safe in trade??

Since the price is no longer the factor but the supply is, Samsung, LG, and Hynix are sort of coerced into a position to reestablish the supply chain by the local Korean partners. Ironically, Japan's intent to hurt the Korean economy has revealed the technological maturity of those local partners that their stock prices are going off the chart. An unexpected delight for many investors I'd say. Well, this kind of dealing with Japan has been anticipated for years and the Korean companies have been preparing for it as it seems.

This is good chance for Korea to improve and develop the raw materal fields, which we had procured them from Japan in easy ways. It affects in short term however, Abe has broken business reliability and will acknowledge very soon he made silly decision. Korea chip companies will not use japanese material any longer.

Glory of 'made in japan' already faded away more than 10 years ago and not a 'wise' move in global market/society

Japan wants South Korean North Korea to fight so they can be benefited? That is what I heard. Korea need to be united and self healed without Japan.

Every country should strive to be independent as much as possible and not rely on unreliable supply chain countries. The recent events by blocking supply chains have been a stark reality.
