ABOUT ME

I’m 34 years old and I’m a sheep farmer from Ayrshire in South West Scotland, which is why I have such a strong accent! I was born and raised on a sheep farm watching my dad who was the shepherd.
At 18 I went away from farming to work in the city s a Police Officer and at 23 (2013) I decided I wanted to do something for some extra money so I went on a sheep shearing course. The hardest thing I’ll ever do was learning to shear sheep. [shudders thinking about it]
I shore whilst on my holidays from work for 2 years and then in 2015 my dad died so I decided to get my own sheep so I could continue working with sheep as it was something I loved doing. From there it escalated quickly from my first 4 sheep in my mum’s garden to now running around 1200 breeding ewes.
A few years ago I bought myself a sheep pregnancy scanner and have been building up my run since then.
I watched a few farm vlogs on YouTube and decided I could have a go and now here we are!
Since starting The Sheep Game I have met Lizzy and had two incredible boys Jock and Angus and one incredible girl, Bonnie. You will see them all on this channel!

My wedding cost $350.00. The dress alone was $50.00. We had a pot luck at my sister's house. She made my wedding cake and the pans were the most expensive part. We got married in 1984 and we had nothing but hope and we had good jobs. That was 40 years ago. I still adore that man. He is a worthy adversary.

Happy day for everyone, especially for Lizzie. She so deserves it. As for the building use, I would caution you against starting up with cattle. There are so many feed storage and field equipment needs that they would quickly deplete the bank account. Plus, from purchase of heifers to marketing their calves as fed cattle is a relatively long time to tie up the money. Stick with sheep, you have your management systems in order, just move some functions inside. AND NO MORE TACKLING EWES, ending in hospital stays Cammy.
