This was a huge topic to cover and I more than likely got something wrong. A good friend of mine noted that the reason why SSO + WoW are so strict about TOS is because they are monthly subscriptions, where are RDO is only a one-time purchase. I completely forgot to add that to the video, so you're getting it as a footnote.

I'm waiting to download any sort of private server before I know it is safe. Although, I am looking forward to someone creating one that's like our current Alicia online. The BSSO dev asking for money should've been an instant red flag for everyone. Those who don't have the licence for the game aren't legally allowed to pay gate their servers.

As someone who works closely with the cyber security department at my job, I cannot stress your statement enough that downloading this is plain and simple not worth the risk without full confirmation that these problems are benign. Hopefully these issues are indeed false flags. Please be careful with what you download.

The old SSO was my absolute favourite thing in the world. I would spend hours upon hours on my crusty af horses with their shitty animations because there was such a cozy sense of home and comfort. Yes, of course, the game needed to be improved and worked on, but surely, if these random devs with the heart and passion can essentially recreate SSO from the good ol' days, why can't SSO do it themselves?

It would be a safe, legal and VERY well received thing that everyone would greatly appreciate it. Hell, stick a one-time price tag on it and I can guarantee a lot of older players will pay it. I know I would. Give us star rider and unlimited star coins or something for said one time price, and they'd have people eating out of the palm of their hand. Would SSO ever do that because of the fact that it is a one time price and no one would be paying on top of that? Maybe not. But it would definitely put them in the good books for a lot of players out there, including me. I still play the game for the story, even if it is totally different, but I would love a slice of the childhood bliss that it once was.

I still play the old CD games over and over just because of how goddamn good old SSO was. The risk of downloading this wasn't worth it, but the child in me was so goddamn tempted I swear 😂😂

I'm so disgusted by the situation ongoing in the Horse Gaming Preservation discord server. The owner has said a lot of problematic things and even bullied you Rattle. I'm against BSSO but seeing how the owner has a victim complex and is saying SUPER disgusting stuff makes me not trust them. I saw the screenshots on Reddit and I am mortified..

I was in the Horsey Games Preservation server. I went in there to get the games I needed (Starshine Legacy, Star Academy, Star Stable Season Riders) and I personally thought it wouldn’t be worth it to stay. While I like the message of preserving horse games that are considered abandonware, my brief interactions with the server owner were not pleasant. Once I got the games I needed, I left.

I likely will get a comment from them because any other comment in the comment section that voices their negative experience in the Horsey Games Preservation server, the server owner will show up in the replies and get defensive about it. If the server becomes public again, do not stay. If you want the games, go in, and then get out if they still have the games.

They have talked shit about major SSO Youtubers, said some disgusting things about Star Stable United and her father (There is a screenshot on the Star Stable Reddit of this specific example.), and is holier than thou if you’re a new player to SSO.
